The energy in Beyond the Gates is off the charts this week, with everyone excited about a big musical night that’s got more tension than a family dinner with too many secrets. The Articulettes are finally performing again but it’s not just the music grabbing everyone’s attention.
Anita’s Big Night Doesn’t Go As Planned
For weeks now, we’ve seen Anita, getting the band back together, rehearsing for the Articulettes’ big reunion tour. It’s been a lovely little trip down memory lane, until now. That sweet, feel-good story is taking a serious turn, and it’s happening right in the middle of their comeback gig. Tamara Tunie gave fans a sneak peek on Instagram, posting a short but juicy clip from the upcoming episode.
She captioned it, “Dramatic notes indeed! 🎶 Is everyone caught up with the 🫖??? 👀”, and honestly, no, we weren’t ready. But just as the music kicks off, so does the drama. Dani turns to Nicole and asks, “What the hell is she thinking coming here?” And then, bam! Dana “Leslie” Thomas makes an entrance that stops everyone in their tracks.
Tensions in Beyond the Gates
It’s not long before voices are raised and tempers boil over. Vernon can be heard warning someone off with the words, “If you dare ruin this night for my wife,” and Ted goes even harder, telling Dana, “Stay away from my wife.”
So now we’ve got a full-blown standoff, and the concert might just be the least important thing happening here. The promo ends on a big gasp moment as Eva, standing beside Kat, blurts out, “Oh my God.” No one moves, no one breathes.
Fans Are Loving Every Minute
After Tunie dropped the teaser, fans rushed to the comments with love. One said, “I can’t say enough how much I love this show!! When I get home I watch it before GH now! ❤️” Another added, “Hi, how are you? OMG, I’m so hyped for these eps. All I know is, bet NOT 1 Dupree will be physically hurt at all. I love my Dupree family ❤️❤️❤️❤️”
And there’s even more reason to tune in, Beyond the Gates is about to hit a major milestone. The show will air its 100th episode on Tuesday, July 29, which is a huge deal. Not just because it’s the first Black daytime soap in decades, but because it’s been knocking it out of the park since day one.
Created by Michele Val Jean and Sheila Ducksworth and produced by CBS Studios and the NAACP, this show dives deep into the lives of the Duprees, a rich, powerful family in a fancy Maryland suburb where everyone’s watching and nobody’s safe from secrets.
