EastEnders fans, the soap schedule is in chaos once again as sport continues to dominate the BBC. As football and Wimbledon dominate primetime schedules, the soap has been cancelled for days, frustrating viewers and leaving them at a loss for when the next instalment will appear. EastEnders Suffers Another Week Of Delays And Cancellations
The new BBC schedule has delivered the latest blow to EastEnders viewers. No new shows will be broadcast this week on Wednesday, July 2, Thursday, July 3, or Friday, July 4. That is three consecutive days with no news from Albert Square.
Sadly, the chaos spills over into next week. Monday, July 7, and Tuesday, July 8, will also have no shows broadcast, leaving the screen black for five consecutive days.
Things then get better mid-week. EastEnders returns on Wednesday, July 9, with two episodes at 8:00 pm and 8:30 pm, then airs again at 7:00 pm on Thursday and Friday.
These changes are due to the BBC’s Summer of Sport and may continue for a few more weeks.
Children Go Missing, And Money Grab Storylines Start
Despite the setbacks, the episodes next week are full of big drama. Lauren Branning and Peter Beale are left stunned when their sons, Louie and Jimmy, unexpectedly vanish. Their fear triggers a frantic search around Walford, fuelling tension around the Square.
Ravi Gulati, meanwhile, takes a big gamble to make quick money. His adventurous scheme could get him into hot water, but he appears happy to risk it.
At home, Stacey faces a big decision about Martin’s legacy that could change everything for her family.
And though the coming week appears to be gruelling, feelings are still high from recent goodbyes. Walford recently bid farewell to Bernie Taylor and Felix Baker. The two decided to leave and begin anew overseas, ending a chapter and leaving everyone behind them bereft. For more EastEnders spoilers and news, visit Soap Opera Daily.
