However, this was the first time when Benny Blanco decided to discuss his side of the story. Blanco recently revealed in an interview that his story was similar to the 90s film ‘Clueless.’
In a new interview with WSJ Magazine, Blanco, 36, opened up that it took him years to realize his feelings for Selena Gomez. Well, it wasn’t that he didn’t know the Rare Beauty founder. The pair knew each other for years. Benny Blanco had produced several of Selena Gomez’s songs. They even collaborated on her 2019 single, I Can’t Get Enough, featuring Tainy and J Balvin.
They even worked on Gomez’s August 2023 track Single Soon. Despite that, Benny Blanco was the last to learn his feelings for Selena Gomez. He told the outlet that it’s crazy that your partner is sitting just right in front of your eyes, but you never noticed this.
He further compared his story with the 90s film Clueless. The Eastside musician said it was totally like that movie where he realized, “Wait, I’m in love.” Though he realized it late, the couple has been together since December 2023. Even Selena Gomez once said in her post that Blanco was the best thing that ever happened to her.
Since then, the couple has been spotted at several events together. In fact, Gomez spoke about their relationship in the 2024 Golden Globes. She talked about the importance of respect in any relationship and believed it was important more than anything.
Benny Blanco undoubtedly pampers Selena a lot, as can be seen in his gestures. He brought her meal to the set and even shared Selena’s favorite dish. And now, Blanco is gearing up to launch his cookbook, Open Wide: A Cookbook for Friends. It will be available on April 30. As per the producer, the book answers all the unknowns and teaches you about all the meals.
