Playing Megan Walsh Feels Very Different To Beth
Beth admitted that playing Megan Walsh has not been easy because the character is nothing like her real personality.
She said that in real life, she is very polite and soft. She would say sorry just to pass someone. But as Megan, she has to act in a completely different way.
On screen, she can be rude and direct, even telling people to move without caring. This big difference makes the role challenging for her. It reminds her all the time that Megan is very far from who she really is.
Working With Lucas Required Clear Boundaries
A big part of the storyline shows Megan’s connection with Will Driscoll, played by Lucas, who is only 18 years old. Beth spoke honestly about this. She said there is a clear boundary between them because of the age gap. They make sure not to do anything that could make either of them uncomfortable. For example, they have not filmed any kissing scenes.
Even with this, Beth said Lucas is great to work with. She described him as calm, mature, and very easygoing. He handles everything in a relaxed way, which makes filming easier. At the same time, working with someone much younger made her think differently.
She said she had not really spoken to an 18-year-old in a long time, and it made her realise how young they really are. The difference in thinking and life experience is very clear. Because of this, she sometimes finds it hard to understand how their characters would connect, since they have so little in common.
While filming, Beth tried not to think too much about how big the storyline was. She said she probably did this to feel more comfortable and less stressed.
