CBS recently announced a new comedy called Eternally Yours for the 2026 to 2027 season. With that decision, Beyond the Gates is now the only scripted show still waiting for a renewal update. Even though this might worry some fans, Carruthers sounded positive about the situation. She said there is no official confirmation yet, but they are working as if the next season is already happening.
This is not the first time the show has faced a delay. In May 2025, CBS renewed the show for Season 2 just one week after actors Daphnée Duplaix and Trisha Mann-Grant shared that they were still waiting for news. Duplaix even joked about it and said she was wondering why the network was making them wait so long.
This time, things could move faster. CBS has shifted its upfront event to April 15, which means the decision for Season 3 might come earlier than before. The network has already picked up new dramas like Cupertino and Einstein, so now all attention is on Beyond the Gates.
Big Crossover Brings Big Drama
While fans wait for the renewal news, the show is preparing something exciting. A crossover with The Young and the Restless will air in June. Carruthers said that connecting characters from both shows makes the story more fun and meaningful for viewers. She also said it can turn into a coordination nightmare at times.
The crossover will feature popular faces like Bryton James, Eric Braeden, Peter Bergman, Michael Mealor, Susan Walters, and Melissa Ordway. Their characters will step into the world of the Dupree family during a big political fundraiser.
The story focuses on Vernon Dupree and Victor Newman, who have been close friends for years. Victor has supported Vernon’s political journey, and Vernon has helped Victor’s business grow through his decisions. Now, Vernon invites Victor to speak at his grandson Martin’s fundraiser.
Martin also invites his friend Kyle Abbott, who arrives with his parents Jack and Diane. Abby and Devon are also part of the guest list. During the event, Devon gets an unexpected business offer from Anita Dupree. But just when everything seems to be going well, something shocking happens and completely disrupts the evening, affecting everyone there.
Even though Season 3 is not confirmed yet, Beyond the Gates has already made a strong impact.
