The new preview opens at the country club, where Kat Richardson and Eva Thomas are still dressed in their anniversary party finery. The atmosphere is glamorous, but the air is thick with tension. Eva hands Kat a crumpled piece of paper and tells her it’s proof. Kat gets right to it, asking if she took a DNA test.
This moment establishes two things: it’s all the same emotionally charged evening, and Eva possesses something now that might define her identity—and perhaps the Richardson family dynamic—forever. Kat’s shock is apparent, and it’s obvious that she wasn’t ready for this type of truth.
Beyond the Gates: Nicole Shuts Down After the Betrayal
Meanwhile, at the Richardson house, Nicole is not doing well. She’s with her sister Dani, attempting to wrap her head around what has happened. The shock of Leslie’s revelation, that she had an affair with Ted, is still raw, and Nicole appears utterly drained. She explains to Dani that it’s as if her life froze the moment the truth was revealed.

As the preview goes on, the scene returns to the Dupree home, where Vernon sits down with the women of the family at the piano. Anita, Chelsea, Naomi, and Dani sit down with him—still wearing their formal outfits from the anniversary celebration. The party is over long ago, but the emotional burden remains.
Vernon, trying to be a source of calm, tells them it’s a long, dark night for the Duprees. He adds that while they don’t know how long the darkness will last, the sun will rise. His words are meant to bring hope, but the camera shows each woman looking visibly shaken. This family clearly needs time—and space—to process what’s happened.
Eva Knocks on a Door in Beyond the Gates
The last few moments of the teaser feature Eva again—this time standing outside the door of a motel room. Wearing only her party dress, she’s vulnerable and in shock. Eva stands at the door and quietly says, “I had nowhere else to go.” Her words hit hard. She had believed Ted never wanted her, a lie that led her to cooperate with Leslie’s plan. Even so, she later tried to stop her mother, proving that her heart was never truly in it. Now, she finds herself face-to-face with the man she believed had abandoned her. And both are reeling from the damage Leslie caused.
With both Eva and Ted emotionally vulnerable, the future is unclear. Will Ted open his arms to Eva and attempt to forge a relationship the two were denied?
