Home and Away is going through a lot of changes as several new characters arrive and some familiar faces prepare to leave. Home and Away fans are about to see new romances, emotional goodbyes, and plenty of drama in the coming weeks. From a rookie police officer making waves to Tane’s shocking exit story, there is a lot happening in the Bay right now.
New Characters Are Bringing Fresh Drama To Home and Away
Home and Away has been on air for almost four decades, and while long-time favourites like Alf Stewart and Irene Roberts still remain close to fans’ hearts, the show continues to introduce new characters to keep things exciting.
One of the newest faces is rookie cop Richie, played by Rocco Forrester-Sach. Richie joined Yabbie Creek Police Station and first appeared on screen on April 28. Constable Cash Newman tried to help guide the young officer at first, but Richie’s eager attitude is already starting to annoy his senior colleague.
Richie’s work life is not the only thing getting attention. Promo footage has teased a romance storyline for the newcomer, showing him kissing newly-single Abigail. Fans are already curious to see where this relationship goes.
Another new character arriving soon is Beau, played by Blake Richardson. Beau has not appeared on screen yet, but viewers are expected to meet him in the coming weeks. Early footage already shows him spending time with Harper and her baby Archie. Another photo also shows Harper and Beau kissing on the beach.
Big Changes Continue As Tane Faces His Exit
Another major new arrival is Dr Amelia Carlisle, played by Nicole da Silva. Many viewers know Nicole from her popular role as Franky Doyle in Wentworth. Fans became excited earlier this year after spotting the actress filming scenes for Home and Away in January.
Dr Amelia has not appeared on screen yet, and the show has not confirmed her first air date. However, viewers already know she will work at Northern Districts Hospital alongside Levi and Dana. There are also rumours that Amelia could become a new love interest for Sergeant David.
While new characters prepare to enter the Bay, Tane’s exit storyline is already playing out on screen. Tane and Mackenzie have started telling people that he is leaving town after his life was turned upside down.
Harper’s mother Kerrie framed Tane on drug charges, which led to him being imprisoned. Later, Brax helped him escape and go on the run. The situation has badly damaged Tane’s life. His business is now in danger, and his relationship with Jo has completely fallen apart. It looks like Ethan Browne will leave the show within the next few weeks.
Brax And Ricky Have Already Said Goodbye Again
Earlier this year, fan favourites Brax and Ricky returned to Home and Away for a special Western Australia storyline made with Tourism Western Australia. Stephen Peacocke and Bonnie Sveen returned to play the popular couple once again.
The storyline revealed that Brax and Ricky had been living on a remote cattle station with their 10-year-old son Casey. Brax never handed himself over to police after his last big storyline in Summer Bay, so the family stayed hidden for years.
The couple remained on screen for 10 weeks before leaving again on May 15. Their return brought emotional scenes and lots of excitement for long-time viewers.
Stephen and Bonnie later spoke to WHO about returning to the soap. “I reunited with old crew friends,” Bonnie told WHO. “I shared a lot of hugs and a lot of chats.
