On Friday, the 62-year-old country singer Billy Ray Cyrus took to his Instagram handle to share a heartwarming throwback from the CMA Fest. He reminisced, ‘One of my best memories ever: @cma Fest.’ The photo he shared was of him and Miley surrounded by his fans. In the snap, the father-daughter duo looked absolutely adorable, evoking a sense of nostalgia and warmth.
Miley Cyrus, a little girl, is seen in the snap clinging to her father’s arms. This picture, taken years ago, inspired Billy to pen a heartfelt poem on the bus. Titled ‘The Moment,’ it speaks volumes of their love. ‘If a picture says a thousand words, what would this one say? Perhaps It’d tell a tale of love shared one summer day.’ It continues, ‘What did the princes know to be young and innocent? This picture is way too happy to make me feel so sad.’
There’s no denying that this picture is closer to Billy Ray Cyrus’ heart. He cherishes the memory in the poem as well as in a heartfelt note for his daughter, Miley Cyrus. The throwback photo was accompanied by Miley Cyrus’ hit song Flowers. Again, Billy didn’t fail to mention how proud he was of his daughter; he even called her a true artist and survivor.
While the father-daughter duo had an incredible history as they starred in Disney’s Hannah Montana, things are awful now. In 2011, Billy claimed that the series destroyed his family and wished the show would never be greenlit. A couple of years later, Tish Cyrus also shared some painful words, suggesting the rough patch in her marriage.
After the couple finalized their second divorce, Billy Ray Cyrus married Firerose in October 2023, while Tish married Dominic Purcell in August 2023. While Miley played the maid of honor role at her mom’s wedding, she was nowhere to be seen at her dad’s wedding. In fact, she omitted his name from her 2024 Grammy acceptance speech.
A source confirmed that Billy Ray Cyrus has been trying hard to reach Miley and amend things. However, the Wrecking Ball singer doesn’t want to see him and even declines his efforts.
