Emmerdale star Bradley Riches, who plays Lewis, is ready to exit the soap. However, he is not permanently exiting the show. He will be away for some time due to a new project. Bradley will make an appearance in Pantomime. Keep reading to find out more details about the soap actor’s new project.
Bradley Riches Ditches Emmerdale For Pantomime!
Bradley Riches entered the village last year as the long-lost brother of Ross. When he first arrived, he was running a weed operation.
However, now he has built a new life for himself. Lewis became the co-owner of the cafe. Soon, the soap fans also learned that Kev is his biological father. Meanwhile, Lewis is in a relationship with Vinny Dingle. However, the character will be away from the Dales for some time.
Bradley will exit the village later this year for a completely different stage of life. He is ready for the festive pantomime at the Sunderland Empire. He will take on the title role in Further Adventures of Peter Pan: The Return of Captain Hook. The theatre shared its excitement about welcoming the star.
Sunderland Empire shared the picture of the soap star on their official Instagram account. They wrote that Bradley Riches is flying into Sunderland this Christmas. He will play Peter Pan. The fans can join in Neverland for jaw-dropping stunts. The production will run from the 11th of December 2026 to the 3rd of January 2027.
ITV Bosses Have Changed The Rules!
Meanwhile, earlier Emmerdale and Coronation Street stars were not allowed to step away from filming for lucrative pantomime gigs. Now, ITV bosses have relaxed that rule. Thus, they can take part in pantomimes. So, Bradley won’t be leaving the soap forever.
An Emmerdale spokesperson said they have agreed to release a few of the soap’s actors to appear in pantomimes this year. The actors involved in it won’t be departing the soaps permanently. They will return to filming once their theatre festive runs come to an end.
Elsewhere, Adam Thomas exited the soap after reportedly securing a £100,000 payday for a pantomime role when bosses wouldn’t release him from his contract. Furthermore, in 2023, Matthew Wolfenden also left the soap after the bosses denied permission in stage production of Elf. However, now, Bradley has a chance to return to the soap.
