The detective of Coronation Street has been away in Wales for the past few weeks, but he comes back just as Theo Silverton’s murder investigation takes a shocking turn.
This time, the case becomes personal when Kit’s son Brody Michaelis finds himself caught up in the police inquiry.
Brody Is Arrested After New Evidence Emerges
Kit has missed a lot while he has been away on a secondment in Wales. During his absence, the investigation into Theo Silverton’s murder has continued to move forward.
But things go south when Todd Grimshaw’s missing phone suddenly turns up in a pawn shop. Since the phone disappeared on the night Theo was murdered, it immediately becomes an important evidence.
As a result, police send the device for forensic testing. However, the results create even more questions. Investigators discover Brody Michaelis’s fingerprints all over the phone and ultimately, police officers to arrest him on suspicion of theft.
Unfortunately for Brody, the situation does not end there. Because the phone is linked to the night of Theo’s murder, he could now find himself facing much greater scrutiny.
Kit Rushes To Brody’s Defence in Coronation Street
As concerns begin to grow around Brody, a new spoiler clip shows Lisa Connor-Swain updating her new boss, DI Thompson, on the latest developments in the case. Shortly afterwards, Kit arrives and quickly makes his feelings known. He insists that there is no way Brody could have been involved in the crime.
However, DI Thompson is far from impressed by Kit’s determination to step into the investigation. Instead, Thompson firmly reminds Kit that he should keep his distance from the case. He tells him, “There was no need to cut your visit [to Wales] short. Obviously you can’t be anywhere near this, so let Lisa do her job, eh?”.
Following the warning, Kit is forced to confront a difficult reality. Although he is a police officer, he is also a worried father, and it is clear that staying out of the investigation will not be easy for him.
