CS/ Aadi left Weatherfield

Asha Says No! Aadi’s Coronation Street Comeback Blocked?

By Roy

Coronation Street viewers are set for a heart-wrenching episode as Asha Alahan finally opens up about the emotional turmoil she’s been hiding for months.

After being pushed to her limit by relentless pressures at work and haunting personal struggles, Asha makes a heartbreaking admission that leaves her father Dev reeling, and forces the family to face a truth they never saw coming. But just when it seems things couldn’t get more devastating, Asha makes one request that changes everything.

The Alahans Face A New Crisis

Recent episodes have shown Asha’s life gradually spiralling under the weight of multiple burdens. As a young paramedic, she’s been dealing with traumatic calls, mounting workplace stress, and a disturbing racist encounter that deeply shook her confidence.

On top of that, she’s been carrying grief from past losses in Weatherfield, all while pretending to those around her that she’s fine. The façade finally cracks in Monday’s episode, when Asha is found unconscious at Victoria Gardens after reaching her breaking point.

CS/ Asha commits suicide

Panic erupts as Dev rushes to the scene and calls for help. At the hospital, doctors fight to save her life while her father watches helplessly, barely able to process what’s happening. Thankfully, Asha pulls through after an emergency team stabilises her condition. But when she wakes, the truth comes pouring out, she admits to Dev that she’s been silently struggling with depression and anxiety for a long time.

“Promise Me You Won’t Tell Him”

In the aftermath, Asha tells her father she’s grateful to still be alive, though the road to recovery won’t be easy. Dev tries to comfort her, torn between relief and heartbreak. But Asha’s next words take him by surprise. She insists that her twin brother Aadi mustn’t find out about her suicide attempt. Asha explains that Aadi has finally found happiness since moving to India for a new job and doesn’t want to disrupt his fresh start.

CS/ Asha makes a plea

She tells Dev that he’d only worry, or worse, return home, if he knew what had happened. Asha begs her father to promise that he’ll keep her ordeal a secret, saying quietly, “Promise me, you won’t tell him.” It’s a moment that captures her fear of being seen as weak and her desperate need to protect her brother from her pain. Dev reluctantly agrees, though it’s clear the secret is already weighing heavily on him.

Aadi’s Absence and the Road Ahead

Aadi’s absence is deeply felt in this storyline, especially as his sister’s life unravels without him knowing. Earlier this year, viewers watched Aadi depart Weatherfield after actor Adam Hussain confirmed his exit from the soap following five years in the role. His character left for a fresh start in India, eager to pursue new ambitions and independence.

CS/ Aadi is saying goodbye

In an interview with The Mirror, Adam shared that leaving Coronation Street was his own decision. He expressed his gratitude to the show and said it was time to “spread his wings” and explore new opportunities. With Asha’s vow to keep her brother in the dark, the show has effectively ruled out Aadi’s return. While Asha begins the slow process of healing, her brother remains thousands of miles away.

Healing Will Take Time

The storyline marks one of Coronation Street’s most emotional moments in recent months. She’s shining a light on mental health and the hidden battles faced by young adults. Asha’s honesty about her depression and anxiety gives Dev and the audience a painful but powerful glimpse into her world.

CS/ How will Dev balance it all?

Though she’s safe for now, it’s clear the road ahead will be long. Dev must balance his promise of silence with his instinct to protect his daughter. For the Alahans, nothing will ever be the same again. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street updates, spoilers, and behind-the-scenes news.
