Just when Coronation Street was about to catch its breath, yet another violent plot twist leaves one resident brutally beaten, and another fighting for his life. Although Mick Michaelis is behind bars, the trouble he’s caused continues to erupt on the cobbles.
Kit and Mick’s Past Blows Its Top
Long-time viewers now understand the complete history of Kit Green and Mick’s long-standing feud. A flashback episode told us that the two committed a very serious crime during their teen years, but when the police became involved, Kit fled, and let Mick take the fall.
Mick went to prison, while Kit became a police officer. Their past wounds were reopened when Mick found out that Kit had slept with Lou while he was in prison—and the result is Brody. Mick, who had brought Brody up as his own, was betrayed beyond belief. The news pushed him into a violent vendetta, with Kit squarely in his sights.
Craig Pays a Shocking Price in Coronation Street
Caught in the crossfire was poor Craig Tinker, who had only recently begun his CID placement. Trying to make a good impression, Craig went out to investigate a disturbance on his own and stopped Mick’s van. That action almost cost him his life. Mick, completely out of control, hit him repeatedly with a baseball bat and left him seriously injured.
Even after his arrest, Mick didn’t give up. He attempted to bring Kit out with Sarah and Bernie as bait, but was eventually arrested. From jail, he called Brody and said he was innocent—accusing Kit of setting him up.
Brody’s Rage Explodes
Hoping to save his dad, Brody ran into Kit’s apartment and attacked him, slamming him into the wall. Kit attempted to make him understand there was concrete evidence against Mick, but Brody was not listening. Bernie and Sarah intervened just in time to put an end to the fight.
Then Lou went to visit Mick in jail and was appalled to find that he’d been assaulted. Mick swore Kit had organized the assault and predicted that if he did not plead guilty, it would get no better. Nevertheless, Mick held firm, planning to plead not guilty.
Right now, the rivalry between Kit and Mick is far from over. With Craig in a critical state, Kit battered and bruised, and Brody caught in the middle between loyalty and honesty, the repercussions are only just starting. And with Mick not going quietly, it is evident this war is far from over. For more latest mayhem from Coronation Street, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily.
