She was upset and overwhelmed, and so she headed out with Gemma, Sally, Glenda and Christina. The girls have heavy drinking over the night. Soon, the night becomes more chaotic. And it happens when Bernie ends up in a hotel room with Mal. he is the man she doesn’t know. Moreover, he even tries to kiss her. But Bernie stops him instantly. Her biggest mistake was drinking too much and taking a pill. Moreover, she even admits this to Gemma later.
Bernie promises not repeat anything like it again. She hoped the moment would stay buried and believed she wouldn’t see Mal again. Her grief was weighing heavily on her. When Mal arrives at Roy’s flat as an electrician, Bernie tries to hide her discomfort. She suggests that Roy should hire someone cheaper. However, Roy insists on keeping Mal for the job.
When the two cross paths again at the Rovers, Bernie pulls Mal aside. He says he won’t reveal anything about their hotel encounter. Moreover, he said he will leave once his work at Roy’s is finished. However, Mal’s presence adds pressure to Bernie’s already fragile situation.
Executive Producer Kate Brooks has hinted that Mal will be involved in Bernie’s upcoming story for a while. Even though their bond is strong, the situation will definitely test them in new ways.
