Frances Barber Joins Bernie’s Family Story

Coronation Street has reportedly cast actress Frances Barber in a guest role that is linked to Bernie Winter-Alahan. According to The Sun, Barber will play one of Bernie’s relatives. The soap has not shared any more details about her character or how she will arrive in Weatherfield.

ITV has not officially confirmed the news yet. Radio Times said it has contacted the broadcaster for a comment. Even so, fans are already excited to see Barber join the long-running soap.

Barber is best known to many viewers as Dolly Nolan in Whitstable Pearl. She has also appeared in popular shows such as Doctor Who, Friday Night Dinner, Benidorm, Cold Feet, and Casualty.

Along with her television work, she has had a successful theatre career and has performed in several Royal Shakespeare Company productions, including Chekhov’s The Seagull.

Another Big Cast Change Is On The Way

The news of Barber’s casting comes soon after Coronation Street confirmed that Mollie Gallagher is leaving the soap after almost seven years. Gallagher joined the show in 2019 as Nina Lucas and has become one of the show’s most loved characters.
