Carl Webster is clearly wasting no time in Coronation Street, and his flirtatious games just levelled up again. After turning on the charm around newcomer Jodie Ramsey, Carl didn’t just win her attention; he got her ready to buy him a drink too, even though his dodgy reputation is already spreading across Weatherfield.
Carl Turns On The Charm At The Café And Hooks Jodie In
Carl started the episode by slipping into his smooth, confident routine at the café, spotting Jodie struggling on the till while covering for Nina Lucas. He quickly jumped in to help, acting like he was simply being friendly. Carl then kept the conversation going, flirting easily as he got to know Jodie better.
He also revealed that he planned to leave Weatherfield as soon as he could “raise the funds,” making it sound like he was only sticking around until he got what he wanted. Abi walked in and immediately caught sight of Carl chatting to Jodie. She didn’t hang around to hear another word and left straight away, clearly unwilling to watch Carl pull someone else into his orbit.
Jodie Still Gives Carl A Chance Despite His Enemies
Carl later showed up at The Rovers, and the reaction was instant. Summer Spellman and Nina headed out as soon as they saw him, making it obvious Carl has already managed to upset plenty of people on the Street. Jodie noticed the tension and questioned why Carl seemed to have so many enemies in Weatherfield. Even so, she didn’t back away, and Carl kept leaning into his charming act.
Carl offered to buy Jodie a drink, and she accepted, showing she wasn’t ready to judge him based on other people’s opinions. Abi then witnessed Carl and Jodie sharing another flirty moment as they left the pub together, and she branded Jodie as Carl’s “next victim.” Carl fired back at Abi, telling her to “change the record” and claiming her warnings were getting boring. He insisted he never forced her to do anything she didn’t want to, then followed it up with a vile dig, saying it wasn’t his fault she “can’t keep [her] knickers on” around him.
Abi didn’t let Carl’s smug attitude slide and called him scum, promising she would make sure everybody knew exactly what he was. She clearly refused to let him charm his way through the Street without consequences. Carl didn’t laugh it off this time. He warned Abi to “be careful” what she says about him, and his tone carried a nasty edge that suggested he meant it. Carl might be busy winning Jodie over right now, but his behaviour proves he’s still dangerous behind the flirting. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
