The pub’s complicated past traces back to 2023, when Daisy and Jenny purchased the legendary local on the back of stolen cash that Stephen Reid had defrauded from Carla Barlow. After Jenny confessed to where the money had come from, she and Carla settled on a discreet repayment deal to pay the money back little by little.
But the peace was not lasting. Following her kidney transplant, Carla has been growing more and more restive, pushing hard for the entire amount to be paid back. While Jenny attempted to make a partial payment, Carla refused and insisted on every cent.
In the meantime, a toxic feud has been simmering between Jenny and Daisy. Following a fiery argument, Daisy pledged to destroy Jenny and joined forces with her mom, Christina, to do it. What was their tool of choice?
A heartless prank. The duo has been leading Jenny astray by pretending to be a potential boyfriend called Dominic on a dating app.

Tensions boil over in episodes that air Monday, April 14, when Carla tells Jenny she will sell The Rovers. The news is a gut blow to Jenny, who begs Carla to allow her to purchase the place so she won’t lose her home and job. Carla agrees—secretly.
Jenny then breaks the news to Daisy about the sale but conveniently omits the details of her intention to buy the pub herself. Entirely in the dark about the backstage bargain, Daisy drowned her anger in booze and lashed out at Carla for selling the pub from underneath them.
Subsequently, Carla sternly informs Jenny that she’d be better off purchasing The Rovers without Daisy’s interference, referring to her as a spoiled madam. Christina coincidentally overhears the comment and doesn’t waste time informing Daisy. The mother-daughter duo double down on their promise to make Jenny suffer.
