Coronation Street has started a surprise rift between two families after Megan Walsh’s grooming scandal. Megan, who worked as a coach, has been charged with grooming Will Driscoll. She has been released on bail, but the damage from her actions is still spreading across the cobbles.
In the latest episode, which aired on 21 May, Ben Driscoll and Eva Price got worrying news from the school. They learned that Eva’s daughter Susie had got into a fight with Bryn, who is Gemma and Chesney’s son. Eva rushed to the school and found out that Susie had hit Bryn with a fizzy drink can.
Susie had not attacked Bryn for no reason. Bryn had been spreading rumours about Will and Megan. When Ben and Eva asked Susie about the fight, she did not seem too sorry and said, “What can I say, I’m a good shot,”
Ben then asked why she had done it. Susie explained that Bryn had been telling their friends that Will and Megan “were doing ‘stuff’ together”. The rumour hurt Susie because it was about her brother and a very painful situation. She then asked, “Is it true?” but Gemma and Chesney arrived before Ben and Eva could properly answer her.
Eva And Ben Confront Gemma And Chesney
Gemma and Chesney came to speak with Eva and Ben, but the talk soon became tense. The fight between Susie and Bryn had now turned into a bigger issue between the two families. Gemma suggested that they could report Susie for assault. Eva quickly defended her daughter and reminded them that Susie was still only a child. She said, “She’s a kid! A gobby, sassy one, I know, but she’s a kid,”
Ben also tried to calm everyone down. He pointed out that Bryn had been making fun of Will’s ordeal. This made the situation more complicated because Susie had acted badly, but Bryn’s comments had also been cruel. After Susie left, the four parents spoke more openly about what Megan had done. Eva also suggested that Gemma and Chesney had been joining in with the gossip. This made the rift between the families even clearer, as Megan’s scandal had now turned into a wider problem on the cobbles.
The new family feud also showed how much Susie cares about Will. She may have handled things in the wrong way, but she clearly wanted to protect her brother from cruel talk. Later, Maggie found Susie in the gardens, where she was “feeling sorry for herself”. Maggie took her back to the pub, and Susie said she was “tired of everyone always rowing”.
Upstairs, Will thanked Susie for standing up for him. Susie proudly replied, “No one disses my family and gets away with that,” She then added, “Seriously though, you and Megan?” with a fake vomiting gesture. The moment added a little humour, but it also showed the bigger problem. Megan’s scandal has now created a new rift between two families, and the fallout is still growing.
