Daniel then tells Ken and Adam that he plans to go to the Lake District to get some space. He packs Bertie’s things and sends him to stay with his grandfather, believing it is the best step.
However, Daniel does not go on the trip. Instead, he stays at home and shuts himself away. He spends time alone with a bottle of whisky and avoids everyone.
