‘I Can’t Do This Anymore’: Debbie Finally Sees Carl’s True Colours in Coronation Street

By Roy

Coronation Street gave fans a really emotional moment on Easter Monday, as Debbie Webster finally snapped and stood up to Carl. Now that her exit has already been confirmed, things are clearly building up for her, and this time, she could not ignore what was right in front of her.

Debbie Finally Realises Carl Has Been Lying

Debbie Webster, played by Sue Devaney, has had a rough time lately. She had just come out of prison after taking the blame for Carl’s dangerous driving during the Emmerdale crossover. She managed to win an appeal off-screen, but the whole situation clearly took a toll on her.

Just before going to prison, Debbie revealed something big to Carl. He was not her brother, like everyone thought. He was actually her son. That truth made everything between them more emotional and complicated.

CS/Carl uses Debbie

When Debbie got back to work at the Chariot Square hotel, Carl, played by Jonathan Howard, quickly started asking her for money again. He told her he owed £10,000 to Fiona, played by Sara Poyzer. Debbie agreed to help him, but she made it clear he would have to pay her back by working at the hotel.

Debbie was ready to give him another chance, but Ronnie Bailey, played by Vinta Morgan, was not convinced. He had a bad feeling about the whole thing from the start.

Ronnie Finds Out The Truth And Debbie Breaks

Carl kept bothering Debbie all day, asking her to send the money. She kept putting it off and said bank checks were causing a delay. Meanwhile, Ronnie decided to check the story himself and went straight to Fiona.

That is when the truth came out. Carl did not owe £10,000. He only owed £5,000. He had lied so he could keep the extra money for himself. Ronnie came back and told Debbie everything, making it clear Carl was playing her again.

CS/ Debbie talks to Carl

Earlier, Debbie had tried to defend Carl. She told Ronnie that once the debt was paid, Carl could start fresh. But after hearing the truth, she could not defend him anymore.

Debbie looked at Carl, completely heartbroken, and asked how he could do this after everything she had done for him. She was close to tears as she told him they were done. She said she could not keep doing this anymore and had finally had enough.

Fans React But Worry About What Comes Next

Fans loved seeing Debbie finally stand up for herself. Many said it was about time she stopped letting Carl take advantage of her. Some even cheered her on and said they hoped she would stick to her decision.

But not everyone feels relaxed about it. Debbie was diagnosed with vascular dementia last year, and fans know her condition will get worse. Some are worried Carl might try to take advantage of her again when she becomes more forgetful.

CS/Will Carl go down?

There is also a bigger twist coming soon. Carl is one of five people who could be killed off, as teased earlier this year. The others are Jodie Ramsey, Maggie Driscoll, Megan Walsh, and Theo Silverton. Fans will finally find out what happens.

For now, Debbie has made her choice. She has walked away from Carl. But in Coronation Street, things can change very quickly. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
