Theo Silverton’s murder continues to shock Coronation Street, and now a new suspect is slowly coming into focus. Summer Spellman is still sitting in prison for a crime viewers know she did not commit, but recent events on the Street have made some residents question if the police arrested the wrong person. A few careless comments and one awkward trip to the flower shop may have revealed a much darker motive behind Theo’s death.
Danielle’s Actions Start Raising Suspicions
Theo Silverton remains the biggest talking point on the Street, and tonight’s episode keeps the murder mystery moving forward as more people start sharing their theories about who could be responsible.
The drama begins when Danielle Silverton visits Preston’s Petals to buy flowers for Theo’s funeral. While speaking with Tracy Barlow, Danielle becomes upset over the high prices and complains about how expensive everything is. Tracy immediately notices how strongly Danielle reacts during the conversation.
After Danielle leaves the shop, Tracy tells George Shuttleworth that Danielle is making a huge fuss over nothing. Tracy points out that Danielle will probably receive a large settlement after Theo’s murder, so she should not really be worrying so much about money.
George then makes the situation even worse by saying that money sounds like a strong motive for murder. His comment quickly changes the mood and leaves everyone uncomfortable.
Summer’s Arrest Still Haunts The Street
Gary Windass does not appreciate George’s comment and quickly tells him to stop accusing people without proof. Gary also reminds George about what already happened to Summer Spellman because of his loose talk. Viewers know that Summer is currently in prison while waiting for trial for Theo’s murder, even though she is innocent.
George previously told the police that Summer lied about the last time she saw Theo, and that information added to the growing case against her. Now that Summer remains locked up, the real killer is still out there somewhere. Danielle’s strange behaviour during the funeral planning starts making some people wonder if the investigation has missed something important.
Things get even more tense later this week when Danielle starts accusing Todd Grimshaw of killing Theo for his life insurance money. Her sudden finger-pointing causes even more drama on the Street. Danielle’s accusations soon catch other people’s attention. Ryan Connor begins sharing his own suspicions with Lisa Connor-Swain, and his concerns push Lisa to look more closely at Danielle’s possible involvement in the case.
As the investigation continues, Danielle is eventually brought in for questioning by Lisa and another police officer. The police start taking the possibility of Danielle being involved much more seriously. At the same time, Tracy’s earlier comments suddenly seem much more important.
