Coronation Street has finally revealed why Brody Michaelis is being linked to Theo Silverton’s murder investigation. The teenager suddenly finds himself facing police questions after a key piece of evidence resurfaces.

A Missing Phone Brings Brody To The Police Station
In the latest episode, Brody is arrested and taken to the police station after officers discover his fingerprints all over Todd Grimshaw’s missing phone. The phone recently turned up at a pawn shop after disappearing on the same night that Theo was murdered. Because the phone could be an important piece of evidence, DS Lisa Connor-Swain wants answers.
She questions Brody about how he came into possession of the device and why his fingerprints are all over it. At first, the discovery makes Brody look suspicious. Since the phone vanished on the night of Theo’s death, police need to find out whether he has any direct connection to the crime. However, Brody soon offers an explanation for his involvement.
During his interview, Brody tells the detective that he found Todd’s phone in a skip near the builder’s yard. According to Brody, he had no idea who the phone belonged to. He also claims that he knew nothing about its possible connection to Theo’s murder.
Instead, Brody admits that he simply saw an opportunity to make some money. After finding the phone, he sold it to a pawn shop without giving it much thought. He never expected that decision to lead to a police investigation. While Brody may have answered one question, he has also created several new ones.
The Discovery Leaves Detectives With More Questions In Coronation Street
The most important detail in Brody’s story is where he says he found the phone. The fact that it was allegedly lying in a skip near the builder’s yard immediately catches the attention of investigators. Kit Green is furious after learning that his son has been arrested and insists that Brody should not be treated as a suspect.
As Lisa and DI Thompson discuss the case, they realise that the location of the phone could be an important clue. At the same time, they cannot ignore the possibility that someone may have left it there deliberately. As a result, detectives are still unsure whether the phone is leading them closer to the truth or sending them in the wrong direction.
Talking about this, Vicky Myers said, “There’s a new DI [Thompson] who wants to do everything by the book and is putting pressure on – not just on Lisa but also Kit and everyone who’s in the station.” Despite the pressure, Lisa is determined to keep digging until she finds the truth.
