The drama is building quickly on Coronation Street, and this week’s murder storyline is about to reach its biggest moment. But viewers who usually watch episodes early will notice something different this time. ITV has made a clear choice that will change how everyone watches this important episode.
ITV Decides Not To Release Coronation Street Episode Early
Fans who open ITVX in the morning will not find the new episode available. ITV has confirmed that the final part of the murder week will only be released after it airs on ITV1 at 8:30pm.
This is a change from what viewers have seen since October 2024. From that time, ITV started uploading new episodes of Coronation Street and Emmerdale at 7am every day. This gave fans the option to watch the show much earlier than the TV broadcast.
When this system started, ITV’s managing editor Craig Morris explained that people liked having the freedom to choose when they watched their favourite soaps. He said viewers could enjoy episodes during their commute, lunch break, or later in the evening.
Now, ITV has chosen a different plan. The aim is to have everyone watch this major episode at the same time so that the reveal feels bigger and more connected for viewers across the country.
Story Builds Up With Flashbacks And Multiple Suspects
This decision links closely to how the story has been planned. In February, the show gave a quick look into the future, hinting that one character would die. This week, the show has gone back to explain how events led to that moment. Through flashbacks, viewers are seeing what each character has been doing, while other residents celebrate with the Connor-Swains at Underworld.
At the centre of the story are five possible victims. These include Megan Walsh, Jodie Ramsey, Carl Webster, Theo Silverton, and Maggie Driscoll. Each of them is part of a different situation that could lead to the final outcome.Recent episodes have added more questions.
Theo has been moving closer to his husband, Todd Grimshaw, in a serious way. Ronnie Bailey has taken Carl away in his car. Jodie has also met someone from her past, which has made things even more unclear. Corrie is still keeping the final details private, but some key moments are fuelling speculations.
