It’s heating up again on Coronation Street, but this time it’s not just TV drama, it’s the viewers themselves who are doing the digging. Following a dramatic standoff between Lisa and Betsy over Becky Swain’s death, viewers are beginning to question whether the story they’ve been told is actually the whole truth. With secret letters, cold cases, and shady facts emerging, there’s one theory that’s gained serious momentum, and it’s a killer.

Lisa’s History With Becky Isn’t Remaining Secret

It all began when Betsy discovered some ancient records regarding her mum, Becky. Of course, she needed to know what was behind it. But Lisa was not so convinced. Rather, she informed Carla that she hoped Betsy would not discover one specific letter, one that revealed Becky was being investigated for corruption prior to her demise.

As more of the history was revealed, we discovered that Lisa and Becky had a huge argument just before Becky passed away. She was a police officer and died in a hit-and-run on duty. As far as Lisa and Betsy are aware, that’s it. But with Lisa being so jumpy, viewers can’t help but wonder there’s more to it. 

Coronation Street Fans Believe Becky’s Alive

Since the scenes were broadcast, the fan theories have rolled in thick and fast. Someone on X wondered if the programme would reintroduce Becky, or if this aspect of the #Swarla plot had been axed for good. Another fan took it a step further, speculating that Becky could be Lauren’s estranged mum. So, Lauren and Betsy would then potentially be sisters.

Not everybody’s ready for that sort of shock. One viewer quipped that if Becky is resurrected from the dead, they’ll be requiring a refund worth of anxiety meds. But since Corrie has a track record of surprise comebacks, people are seriously considering this theory now.

Cold Case Clues Have Viewers

Fuel was added to the flames in a recent episode, when Lisa was shown investigating a case. Some viewers were quick to link it, thinking the case might be connected to Becky’s corruption probe. One fan owned up to having a gut feeling the entire thing was “connected to bloody Becky.”

Another suggested that Lisa appears to be looking into Becky’s history behind the scenes. Another said that since Lisa is doing paperwork now, she has all the time in the world to begin piecing things together. “It’s all gonna crash down like a game of Jenga,” one predicted, and really, it could.
