Coronation Street fans thought the mystery of Theo Silverton’s killer had finally been solved when the soap revealed that Sarah Platt was responsible for his death.
But just one episode after the big reveal, many viewers are already convinced that there is still another twist to come, and they believe Sarah may not be the person who actually killed Theo after all. Dive in for more details.
Coronation Street: Sarah Was Never Part Of The Original Suspect List
The reveal came as a huge surprise because Sarah was never included in the show’s official list of suspects. Instead, attention focused on six other Weatherfield residents who all had reasons to hate Theo.
The suspects included Todd Grimshaw, who suffered months of abuse from Theo, Summer Spellman, whom Theo left to die, his ex-wife Danielle Silverton, George Shuttleworth, George’s partner Christina Boyd, and Gary Windass. Each of them faced police questioning as detectives tried to uncover who was responsible for Theo’s death.

For much of the investigation, suspicion centered on Gary. Theo’s betrayal deeply angered him after Sarah revealed that the man Gary once considered a friend was actually a bully.
Gary’s rage led him to smash Theo’s van with a sledgehammer before later deleting CCTV footage that could have linked him to the crime.
The Secret Between Sarah And Gary Finally Came Out
Recent episodes also fueled suspicions that Gary and Sarah were having an affair. Their growing closeness caught the attention of both Maria Connor and Sarah’s boyfriend, DS Kit Green, who is also involved in the murder investigation.
Everything came to a head during a dramatic dinner party when Maria publicly accused Sarah and Gary of being involved with each other. However, viewers soon learned that their secret had nothing to do with romance.

Flashbacks revealed that Sarah had gone to the flat after receiving a worrying message from Todd’s phone. During a confrontation, Theo cruelly brought up Billy, the baby Sarah and Todd lost as teenagers. He also suggested that he had killed Todd.
Fearing for her safety, Sarah grabbed a metal pipe and struck Theo. He then lost his balance and fell from the scaffolding to the cobbles below. After panicking, Sarah called Gary for help. Using his experience with cover-ups, Gary hid Theo’s body and used Theo’s phone to send messages, making it appear that he was still alive.

The pair’s secret was not an affair at all. Gary had become Sarah’s accomplice. Despite the flashback scenes, many Coronation Street viewers are not convinced that Sarah actually killed Theo. Several fans pointed to a small detail that appeared on screen after Theo fell.
