Coronation Street has given fans a special surprise after finally revealing who killed Theo Silverton. The ITV soap has now shared never-before-seen footage from the filming of Theo’s final scenes, giving viewers a behind-the-scenes look at one of the show’s biggest moments of the year.
Coronation Street Reveals How Theo’s Final Scene Was Filmed
Theo Silverton died back in April after falling from scaffolding, and his death started a major murder mystery on the cobbles. For weeks, viewers were left wondering who was responsible for the villain’s shocking end.
Earlier this week, the soap finally revealed that Sarah Platt killed Theo. During a tense confrontation on the scaffolding, Theo mocked Sarah about her relationship with Todd Grimshaw and cruelly mentioned their son Billy, who died as a newborn. Sarah lost her temper.
She grabbed a nearby scaffolding pole and hit Theo over the head. Theo then fell from the scaffolding to the ground below. Sarah later called Gary Windass to help cover up what had happened. Viewers finally saw the full truth through a flashback episode.
Cast Shares Behind-The-Scenes Moments
After the big reveal, Coronation Street shared a new video on Instagram showing how the dramatic scenes were filmed.
The clip featured James Cartwright, who played Theo, and Tina O’Brien, who plays Sarah. Stunt performer Matt also appeared as they prepared to film the dangerous sequence.
Looking back at Theo’s final scene, Cartwright said, “It has come in a full circle, that he started at the top of scaffolding about a year and a half ago. And now he’s coming off the top of a scaffolding.” O’Brien laughed and added, “Yeah, with a piece of scaffolding to the head.”
O’Brien admitted that she felt nervous while filming the important scene. She said she wanted everything to look right and worried that she might accidentally hit Cartwright with the scaffolding pole during filming. The new behind-the-scenes video has given fans a closer look at how one of Coronation Street’s biggest scenes was made.
