As Helen Worth prepares for her final episode as Gail Platt, Coronation Street has released a new tribute. After a fifty-year mark, Worth is finally stepping out of the cobbles and the show makers have shared a new video commemorating the character’s legacy. Though our hearts are heavy as we bid her goodbye, but the tribute video has our hearts.
Corrie Makers Share Gail’s Tribute Video
The Corrie makers have shared an eight-minute video clip on their official YouTube channel for the audience. However, it has previously being shown off-camera during Helen’s farewell party at the Bistro. The video features sneak-peeks of all of Gail’s appearances in the cobbles since the time she started her journey. Never thought a small video could bring so much nostalgia and tears back!
The video also includes Gail’s famous storylines from her six marriages, her shocking reactions, and even her street spat with Eileen. We loved them all – and for a moment, it seemed like it took us back on a time machine! The best news that came along was that Gail’s final Christmas Day episode will be released early on ITVX’s streaming service. You can view the episode starting from 7 am to 7 pm before it gets aired.
What Worth Previously Said About Her Exit
When asked, Helen first said that it was the “perfect timing” for Gail’s exit. Helen said, “This year feels like the perfect time for me to leave the show. I think I had the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world, and now I’m celebrating 50 years there.” She also said that she ” made the decision at the start of the year and spoke to the producers, who were very kind and understanding.”
Additionally, she also said, “I am lucky to get the most incredible scripts week in and week out. I also got the chance to work with fantastic actors, directors, and a brilliant crew. The past 50 years have flown by, and I don’t think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet.” It will be interesting to see what Helen does next after exiting Coronation Street.
