Mary Taylor is not ready to forgive Christina Boyd in Coronation Street. After Christina admits to a shocking secret, George decides to support her through her addiction.
Mary, however, believes Christina needs to face the consequences of her actions. Next week’s episodes show Mary taking a bold step that leaves both George and Christina stunned. Scroll down for more information.
Mary Finds It Hard To Forgive Christina
The story begins after Christina makes a painful confession. She admits that she is a compulsive spender and reveals that she took out credit cards in other people’s names. Mary, Glenda Shuttleworth and Christina’s ex-husband Lenny all became victims of her actions.
George listens to Christina and understands that she is dealing with a serious spending addiction. Instead of turning against her, he encourages her to get help. Christina attends a support group, and George decides to give her another chance.
Mary does not feel the same way. She tells Christina that she cannot forgive her so easily and says it will take a long time to rebuild their friendship. A Coronation Street source explained: “Mary doesn’t cope with betrayal well. She even mentions the time that her son Jude pretended to be a marine biologist.
“We’ve all seen Mary’s mood swings in the past. She may be sweet and quirky, but she’s not someone to get on the wrong side of!”
Coronation Street: Mary Takes Matters Into Her Own Hands
The following week, George and Christina return home to No.11 and get a big surprise. They find Mary holding a flash sale inside the house.
Christina tries to stop her as Mary starts selling household items. Mary argues that the items were bought using her credit card, so she believes they belong to her and she has every right to sell them.
A Corrie insider said: “Christina wasn’t being malicious in getting her loved ones caught up in fraud and spending sprees.
She’s been trying her best to pay the money back herself, but Mary is so angry that there’s just no reasoning with her.”
Christina’s Struggles Are Not Over Yet
The tension continues the next day. Mary keeps making sarcastic comments about Christina and shows that she is still deeply hurt by everything that happened.
At the same time, Christina’s addiction may still be causing problems. She quietly checks a phone message that says: “Package out for delivery”. The message hints that she could still be spending money in secret. The big question is whether George will find out.
Amy Robbins, recently shared her thoughts on the storyline. She said: “Part of the reason she got herself in trouble is because she’s the one who always gets the drinks in.
“If someone who I considered a friend took out a credit card in my name, I’d find that very hard to forgive, until I saw how truly sorry they were and accepted they had a problem.” Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers and behind-the-scenes updates.
