Sam Blakeman faces another emotional setback in Coronation Street after discovering that Megan Walsh’s trial has taken a worrying turn.
As the teenager tries to recover from his recent mental health struggles, one unexpected conversation leaves him fearing the worst, especially when he starts believing that Megan could soon be free. Dive in for more details.
Sam Learns Megan’s Trial Has Taken A Shock Turn
Megan Walsh has spent the week in court standing trial for sexually abusing Will Driscoll. During an earlier hearing, Will took the witness stand and was questioned by both Adam Barlow, who is defending Megan, and the prosecution.
Everything appeared to be going well until Will accidentally made eye contact with Megan. After that moment, his confidence collapsed. He suddenly claimed that everything he had previously said about Megan was false and insisted that he had never been in a relationship with her.
Following his dramatic change in testimony, the jury was sent home while the judge decided whether the trial could continue.
In the latest episode, the judge ruled that the trial would go ahead after all. The Driscoll family returned to court, and Ben Driscoll later took the witness stand. However, away from the courtroom, another member of the community was about to receive some upsetting news.
Coronation Street: Hope Accidentally Reveals The Truth To Sam
While the court proceedings continued, Sam Blakeman received a visit from his friend Hope Stape. Sam remains in a mental health unit after suffering a psychosis breakdown a few weeks ago, and he was delighted to see Hope. Before long, though, he asked her for an update on Megan’s trial.
Nick Tilsley and Toyah Battersby already knew what had happened in court the previous day but had deliberately kept it from Sam because they wanted to protect his mental health. Although they managed to hide the truth at first, Hope struggled to keep the secret.
Nick explained that he wanted to speak to a psychiatrist first to work out the best way to tell Sam. However, that explanation failed to reassure him. As his anxiety grew, Sam became convinced that Megan could be released. Now, she might come after him because he was the person who first exposed her relationship with Will.
Feeling overwhelmed, Sam asked Nick and Toyah to leave because he no longer wanted to see them. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers and behind-the-scenes updates.
