She needs quality time with Kevin after chemotherapy, but Carl’s interruption spoils everything. Debbie Webster, meanwhile, is secretly experiencing a private health crisis. Having had an MRI appointment, she lets her family know she’s living life to the fullest.
As she invites Abi and Kevin to assist with sampling the wedding food, Kevin has to excuse himself due to illness, leaving Carl and Abi on their own again. Although Debbie keeps her diagnosis to herself, she may not be able to keep it in for long.

Dee-Dee encounters Asha and Zoe outside the hospital. While Zoe apologizes, Dee-Dee isn’t impressed, particularly after discovering that Wes—a nurse she saw earlier—is Zoe’s brother. Asha attempts to dissuade her from making the complaint, but Dee-Dee is adamant.
After the hospital exonerates Zoe of any wrongdoing, Dee-Dee attends a support group and finds out how many women have similar traumatic histories. At the Rovers, she raises a harrowing fact: Black women are four times more likely to die in childbirth. She informs Asha she’s no longer leaving justice to the hospital – she’ll take it on her own terms.
