We know that actress Helen Worth is all set to bow out as Gail Platt after a fabulous fifty-year run on the soap. As we previously reported, her exit storyline will roll out next week on the popular ITV soap. Initially, actor Sean Wilson was reported to reprise his role as Martin Platt to become part of Gail’s exit. However, that did not pan out well.
Therefore, actor John Thomson is now stepping back in Corrie as Jesse Chadwick. As of now, we know that Bethany Platt’s botched surgery in Turkey is laying the foundation for Gail’s exit. It was recently revealed that Gail is taking out a bridging loan to pay Bethany’s bills. and is now committed to selling her house to pay back the loan.
In the upcoming episodes, Gail is stunned to see Jesse back in Weatherfield. He tells her that he has come to town to support her and the rest of her family in the aftermath of Beathany’s tragedy. It is then revealed that Gail and Jesse met each other years ago in Thailand when she was there on a holiday. The two stayed in touch ever since.
” He’s returned via Weatherfield to check on Gail, because they’ve stayed in touch via email. He’s heard all about Bethany and he’s very concerned for Gail,” John Thomas told the media. Furthermore, he revealed that his return has been met with a mixed response. Two Platts like him, and two don’t, per Coronation Street Spoilers.
“Shona and Nick are very generous in their offer to wipe the slate clean and see what Jesse might be like given Gail’s history,” The actor offered. Meanwhile, he pointed out that David and Sarah do not want to give him a chance. There is total mistrust in them from the very beginning. Could they be right in their apprehensions?
