Adam Barlow is about to face a difficult situation in Coronation Street after newcomer Idris Nazir arrives in Weatherfield. Alya Nazir believes her cousin could help Adam’s struggling law firm by bringing in new business, but Adam is not convinced that Idris can be trusted. Still, with work becoming harder to find, Adam may soon have no choice but to take a big risk.
Adam Begins To Suspect Idris After His Arrival In Weatherfield
Idris arrives in Weatherfield this week and quickly makes an impression on the locals. He even wins over Leanne Battersby after helping deal with some rowdy customers at Speed Daal. Alya feels happy to see her cousin and appreciates the way he steps in to help.
But Adam does not feel comfortable around Idris from the beginning. While everyone else seems impressed by him, Adam feels that something is not right. His suspicions grow stronger later when he sees Idris threatening a shady man and demanding money from him.
The incident leaves Adam even more worried about Idris and the kind of trouble he could bring. However, Adam also knows that his law firm badly needs new clients after facing recent problems. That puts him in a very difficult position.
A Corrie source explained the tension between the two men. “It’s fair to say that Idris doesn’t make the best first impression on Adam,” explains our Corrie source. “They both have one thing in common – having Alya’s best interests at heart – but that doesn’t mean they get along!”
Alya Pushes Adam To Take Idris On As A New Client
In scenes airing on June 2, Alya pushes Adam to give Idris a chance. She asks him to look over Idris’ files and consider taking him on as a client.
Even though Adam still feels unsure, he agrees to think about representing Idris as his lawyer. He clearly does not trust him fully, but he also understands that turning away business may not be the smartest move right now.
The same Corrie source also spoke about Adam’s struggle at work. “Adam needs all the business he can get at the law firm after recent setbacks, so taking on Idris seems to be a no-brainer. But will he swallow his pride and make the deal?”
