Coronation Street spoilers have suggested comeback plans for one of the characters from Gail’s past. Now, there’s a confirmation that her ex-husband, Richard Hillman, is returning to the cobbles. But how? As far as we can recall, he passed away in a car crash in 2003. So, is he coming back from the dead now?
In the last few episodes, we have seen Gail at a crossroads. She has planned a Christmas wedding for her and Jesse, but Audrey is not in for it. She is completely against her marriage and wants her to break it off. In fact, she has been pulling stunts ever since to delay or cancel the wedding. When nothing worked, Audrey tried to create a rift between Gail and Jesse during the farewell party by saying Jesse had been hiding something from her.
Surprise Visitor Finally Comes In
As their farewell party gets ruined, Gail and Jesse head home to talk things out in private. It was not only Audrey’s comments that bothered Gail, but she had also previously seen Jesse and David panic. Though she didn’t give it thought, it turns out Audrey wasn’t completely wrong after all. Jesse confesses what happened and his decision to help David regarding Harvey and Damon’s money laundering. Gail was stunned to know that David had endangered the Platt family just for money.
However, Jesse doesn’t just confess but also decides to bring Audrey down. He told Gail everything she did to break them off and how she wasn’t even ill for real. As far as we know, Gail’s family is very close to her heart. Now, as she learns about the betrayal by three of the most important family members, she is hurt. She doesn’t have a clue why her own family wouldn’t want her to be happy – and kicks three of them out of the house.
As she was going through an old photo album of the Platt family, she fell asleep on the sofa, and right then, the mystery intruder crept into her dreams. And the mystery man of her dreams was none other than her third husband, Richard. There was earlier the rumor that Brian Capron might return to reprise his role as Richard in the ITV soap – it turned out to be true.
