The Theo Silverton murder case has taken another turn for worse in Coronation Street. After weeks of questions and suspicion, the police now seem to have a new person in their sights. Summer Spellman has made one very risky move, and it could make her look far more guilty than she expected.
Summer Spellman Comes Under Fresh Suspicion
The latest episode revealed a big update in the investigation into Theo Silverton’s death. Theo, played by James Cartwright, was found dead last month in the corner shop backyard by Betsy Swain, played by Sydney Martin. His body was discovered after wedding celebrations on the cobbles.
The police have already questioned several people in Weatherfield. George Shuttleworth, Christina Boyd, and Gary Windass have all been pulled into the case. The full suspect list also includes Todd Grimshaw, Summer Spellman, Gary Windass, and Danielle Silverton.
Now, Summer has moved closer to the centre of the mystery. She recently revealed that she was planning to leave Weatherfield and start a new life at an American university. That news already felt important, especially with Theo’s killer still out there.
Things became even more tense when DC Kit Green told Todd that the police were closing in on Theo’s killer. He made it clear that the truth would come out soon. Summer looked very unsettled after hearing this, which only made her behaviour seem more suspicious.
Summer’s Journal Causes A Bigger Problem
Summer later went to collect the last of Theo’s things from the corner shop flat. At the same time, George and Christina noticed that some of her belongings were taking up space in the corner of their living room.
George accidentally knocked her bag onto the floor and found her journal. Christina told him that he should not read it, but they both became interested when they saw one troubling page. The page showed that Summer had written about wanting to aim a gun at Theo’s head and make him pay for what he had done.
Summer then came home and caught George and Christina with the journal. She became terrified because she knew the page would look very bad for her if the police found it. In a panic, Summer threw the journal onto a fire in the backyard. George questioned her choice and told her that getting rid of the book only made her look more suspicious.
Summer may have thought she had removed the problem, but the police were already starting to look more closely at her. Lisa Connor-Swain was going through wedding photos with Kit when she noticed something important. In one photo, Summer was seen talking to two partygoers.
