Beth Nixon played the character of Megan Walsh. She has left the soap. Her final scenes aired on Friday. Megan was found guilty of grooming Weatherfield teenager Will Driscoll. She has been imprisoned for manipulating and exploiting the teenager.
Now, the soap actor has opened up about her character’s exit on Inside Soap’s Scoop podcast. Beth has shared why it was always the plan for Megan to get her comeuppance. She said that when she first took the role, she didn’t know what was going to happen ahead. Beth didn’t know how long she would stay. However, she was aware that Megan wouldn’t escape justice by being killed.
Beth Wants To Be A Part Of Prison Scenes!
It shows the whole process of it. Furthermore, the storyline also shows what the family has been going through and how they are supporting Will. The soap actor added that it is crucial to show that if one is being abused, they get justice. It’s really hard, as it doesn’t happen that way. However, when Kate Brooks and other writers were making the story, there have been cases when victims have got justice.
The female abusers have been imprisoned. Thus, the same happened with Megan. It positively mirrors real life. Though it is a dark storyline, it shows one can be punished. Meanwhile, Beth also confirmed that she would love to come back. She revealed that she cried on her last day. It’s just a fab place to work, and she is blessed to work there.
