Actor Christopher Harper returned as Nathan Curtis on Coronation Street earlier in 2024. He garnered instant fame for his hair-raising performance as a nasty pedophile on the ITV soap. However, the soap star has now announced that the sudser is behind him and that he won’t be returning to it EVER.
“I’m definitely not going back,” the 47-year-old actor told Digital Spy while confirming his CS exit. “Coronation Street is not a place for the journey of a pedophile to recover and become loved.” Furthermore, he added that he would never want Nathan to have a redemption or a forgiveness arc on the soap, he believes that should not happen to a man like Nathan.
His character, Nathan Curtis, returned to Coronation Street earlier this year as Bethany Platt’s abuser. However, he quickly got embroiled in a murder investigation as the prime suspect when it was revealed that he was a subscriber of Lauren Bolton’s O-Vidz account. The townies were convinced that he was the culprit and even attempted to run him out of town.
Later, Gary Windass attacked him and even tried to pay him a hefty bribe in an attempt to get him to leave Weatherfield. Well, much to many characters’ relief it appears that Nathan’s reign of terror is actually coming to an end. He was recently arrested for breaching a restraining order, and that’s what may cause him to exit the soap for good.
