Coronation Street star Gareth Pierce has given fans a reason to celebrate after completing a huge challenge away from the soap. The actor, who plays Todd Grimshaw, recently took part in one of the UK’s biggest cycling events to raise money for charity.

Gareth Takes On A Huge Cycling Challenge
Last weekend, Gareth took part in the Dragon Ride Medio Fondo in Bannau Brycheiniog, Wales. The event is one of the biggest cycling challenges in the UK. The route was far from easy. Riders had to cycle 154 kilometres and climb more than 2,300 metres during the event. Gareth took on the challenge to raise money for Age UK and its “Act Now, Age Better” campaign.
Before the ride, the Coronation Street star told fans about his plans on social media. He wrote: “Spinning my legs at this year’s @dragonridewales on SUNDAY 14th JUNE! “154km and over 2000m ascent, raising funds for @age_uk and their ‘Act Now, Age Better’ campaign.”

After completing the ride, Gareth posted a series of photos from the day on Instagram. One picture showed him smiling as he lifted his bike above his head in celebration. The actor revealed that he was feeling the effects of the challenge but was delighted with the support he had received.
He wrote: “Wow! Some aching limbs today, but a full heart and full coffers too – thanks to your generous donations. You’ve sent us soaring towards the £1000 mark for @age_uk.” Gareth also thanked the organisers and volunteers who helped make the event possible.
Coronation Street Fans And Co-Stars Show Their Support
Many people quickly congratulated Gareth on his achievement. Age UK left a message in the comments to thank him for taking on the challenge. The charity wrote: “Huge well done Gareth from all of us here at Age UK! Thank you so much for all your support and for taking on such a massive challenge “
Several of Gareth’s Coronation Street colleagues also showed their support. Tanisha Gorey, who plays Asha Alahan, commented: “Woohoo!!!! We love you!!!!!” Former Coronation Street actor Lewis Magee also praised him, writing: “Legend.”

Fans joined in with their own messages of support. One follower wrote: “So proud of you, Gareth! Congratulations on completing your charity cycle for Age UK. What an amazing achievement for such a great cause—you should be really proud of yourself.”
Thanks to Gareth’s efforts and the generosity of supporters, the fundraiser has moved closer to its £1,000 target. The achievement has earned plenty of praise and shown that the soap star is making a difference away from the cobbles as well.
