Coronation Street: Jane Opens Up About Leanne’s New Chapter
Leanne’s life changed dramatically in 2024 when she became caught up in a sinister cult. The experience eventually led to the breakdown of her relationship with Nick Tilsley, leaving her devastated.
The situation became even harder when Nick moved on with Leanne’s sister, Toyah Battersby. The betrayal created a huge rift between the sisters and left Leanne struggling to rebuild her life.
Thankfully, things have started to improve. Leanne’s business, Speed Daal, is doing well, and she has also found herself growing close to Idris Nazir. Speaking on This Morning, Jane Danson shared her thoughts on Idris’ arrival. “I think it’s fair to say that he’s come in with a bit of a bang, and he’s got straight in there,” she said.
Idris Has Made A Big Impression On Leanne
Jane explained that Leanne did not waste much time getting to know the newcomer. “Leanne’s historically been quite well known for lots of relationships, and she wastes no time getting her hooks on the new guy – even though he did actually pursue her!”
Viewers recently watched Idris impress Leanne when he stood up for Brody Michaelis during an incident involving difficult customers at Speed Daal. He was equally impressed when Leanne fought off a mugger. The growing attraction between them soon led to a kiss over drinks in the Rovers.
Jane also revealed why Idris appeals to Leanne so much. “She’s having a great time,” Jane said. “I think what we’re learning is that he’s a bit of a lovable rogue. He’s got a bit of an edge to him. I think because Leanne’s a bit edgy herself and a bit feisty, she quite likes that, and she’s quite drawn to that kind of edginess that he’s carrying around the street.”
For now, Leanne seems happier than she has been in a long time. With Speed Daal thriving and Idris bringing excitement back into her life, Jane’s comments suggest that viewers can expect plenty more positive moments ahead.
