One of Coronation Street’s newest stars will soon take a short break from the soap, but fans do not need to worry. Ryan Mulvey, who plays Brody Michaelis, has landed an exciting new acting job away from Weatherfield.
The good news is that his break is only temporary, and he will return to the ITV soap after finishing the new project. Scroll down for more information.
Brody’s Story Has Changed A Lot In Coronation Street
When Brody Michaelis first arrived in Coronation Street last year, he quickly became one of the show’s biggest troublemakers. He first appeared as the toughest boy in the young offenders unit where Dylan Wilson was staying. He caused problems for Dylan and several other people.
As time went on, viewers learned more about Brody’s difficult family life. His parents, Mick and Lou Michaelis, helped explain why he acted the way he did. Brody tried to copy his violent father and made enemies with many people on the Street, especially police officer Lisa Connor-Swain. Later, he received another shock when he found out that Kit Green was actually his real father.
Things slowly started to change for Brody after Mick was sent to prison for murdering Craig Tinker and Lou was jailed for attacking Gary Windass. Even though Mick escaped from prison for a short time, Brody and his sisters, Joanie and Shanice, eventually moved in with Sally and Tim Metcalfe.
Living in a safe home helped Brody become a much kinder person. He still got involved in Carl Webster’s car theft plan with Dylan. But he has shown a much softer side in recent months.
Ryan Mulvey Takes On A New Challenge
Ryan Mulvey will now step away from Coronation Street for a short time to appear in this year’s production of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre. The Christmas pantomime will run from December 5, 2026, until January 3, 2027.
The theatre announced the news on its official Instagram page by sharing a poster of Ryan dressed in royal clothes. Alongside the picture, they wrote: “We’re delighted to reveal that Coronation Street favourite Ryan Mulvey will star in this year’s spectacular family pantomime, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs at The Epstein Theatre!”
The post continued: “Packed with laugh-out-loud comedy, dazzling costumes, stunning special effects and plenty of festive magic. This promises to be the biggest Christmas panto of them all!”. Ryan later shared the poster on his own Instagram Story and joked, “oh no he isn’t”.
Ryan’s Coronation Street co-stars were quick to congratulate him. This means Ryan’s break from Coronation Street will only last for the Christmas season before he returns to the soap. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers and behind-the-scenes updates.
