Coronation Street’s Lucy Fallon has had a difficult few days as her baby daughter has been unwell, leading to an unexpected hospital visit. The actress, best known for playing Bethany Platt, shared her emotional experience with fans after what she described as a chaotic and exhausting weekend.
A Tough Few Days For The Fallon Family
Lucy took to social media on Monday to open up about what she called a “weekend and a half.” Dressed in pink pyjamas and a dressing gown, she admitted that she didn’t intend to sound “attention-seeking” but felt the need to share what had happened.
She explained that her daughter had been struggling with multiple health issues and things quickly took a worrying turn. The actress, who welcomed her second child earlier this year, confessed that she felt completely drained after rushing to A&E.
She said that the weekend was filled with hospital visits and bouts of illness, leaving her unsure of who she even was anymore. Her words captured the exhaustion many parents experience when their little ones fall ill. Lucy also showed her daughter Nancy in the video, revealing that the baby had a visibly swollen eye caused by an infection. The moment tugged at fans’ hearts as Lucy described how her daughter had been vomiting and suffering from a throat, ear, and eye infection.
Coronation Street: The Scare That Led To Hospital
The actress revealed that over the weekend, things became serious enough to rush little Nancy to the hospital. Lucy described the experience as both frightening and overwhelming, but she praised the doctors and nurses for their support. Thankfully, Nancy is now on the mend after receiving treatment for her infections. Fans flooded Lucy’s social media with messages of concern and encouragement after she shared the update.
Many parents could relate to her exhaustion and praised her for being open about the realities of parenthood. Nancy, who was born in January this year, is the couple’s second child after their firstborn. Lucy had previously shared that she was terrified to tell her Coronation Street bosses about her second pregnancy. She feared how they might react so soon after her return to work. Speaking to The Sun, she recalled being in the green room when she felt tears roll down her cheeks.
Lucy now limits her filming schedule so she can spend more time with her children. She often worked no more than two consecutive days. The actress returned to Coronation Street in July this year. She even posted a dressing-room snap with the caption, “And just like that, she’s back.” Fans were thrilled to see her reprise her role as Bethany Platt after taking time off for maternity leave.
