Carl’s Brake Tampering Plan Ends In Horror
Carl recently crossed another line when he secretly tampered with the brakes on Kevin Webster’s car. However, before he could get away with it, Tyrone Dobbs caught him in the act.
The situation quickly spiralled out of control. During the confrontation, Tyrone accidentally knocked a car jack, causing the vehicle to fall on Carl. The weight of the car crushed him, leaving him badly injured and needing hospital treatment.
The accident marks a huge moment in Carl’s story. After spending months causing chaos on the street, he is suddenly forced to face the reality of where his actions have led him.

A Near-Death Experience Forces Carl To Rethink Everything
According to actor Jonathan Howard, the accident becomes a major wake-up call for Carl. Speaking about the storyline, he explained that the character starts looking at his life in a completely different way. Howard said: “[It’s] time to really look at his life and question the actions that he’s taken.”
The actor added: “And whether or not he really wants to go down that road, knowing that his mum [Debbie] is not always going to be around. He does sort of use this as an opportunity to try and turn over a new leaf.”
While Carl genuinely tries to become a better person, Howard suggested that the road ahead will not be easy. Although viewers have seen glimpses of a softer side to Carl before, more trouble is still waiting around the corner once his determination starts to slip.

Coronation Street: Kevin Learns The Truth As A Gun Is Pulled
Carl’s hopes of starting over may not last long. In Tuesday’s episode, Kevin finally learns that his brother was responsible for sabotaging his car. Furious, he confronts Carl and wastes no time demanding answers.
The argument soon turns dangerous. During the heated clash, Carl pulls out a gun and points it at Kevin. The situation becomes even more alarming when a shot is fired.
Despite everything Carl has done, Howard believes there is a difference between Carl and some of Coronation Street’s darkest villains. He explained: “I don’t think he’s got the darkness of a Theo [Silverton] or previous supervillains on Corrie, where they have gone to the extreme of murdering someone.

Howard also hopes viewers continue to see Carl’s mischievous side. “But it will be interesting to see if he goes on this redemptive arc.
