Leanne Battersby has finally found someone who makes her smile again, but Coronation Street has revealed that a new battle could soon be heading her way. Idris Nazir’s arrival has brought romance into Leanne’s life, yet it could also lead to a growing rivalry with Nick Tilsley and Toyah Battersby.
With Speed Daal and the Bistro potentially going head-to-head, viewers may soon see a very different side of Leanne. Scroll down to get more information about the same.
Coronation Street: A New Romance Could Lead To New Trouble
Idris made quite an entrance when he arrived on the cobbles. He quickly took an interest in Leanne, and the pair soon formed a strong connection. After everything Leanne has been through over the years, the new relationship has given her something positive to focus on.
Speaking on This Morning, Jane Danson shared that she is happy to see Leanne enjoying herself again after such a difficult period. “She’s had quite a miserable life, shall we say, so I’m quite enjoying the fact that Leanne’s kind of smiling a little bit more at the moment,” she said.
Jane also hinted that Leanne’s split from Nick does not mean they are completely out of each other’s lives. “She’s doing some fun things, and there’s loads coming up.
Just because her and Nick have split up doesn’t mean that they won’t work together. So our characters are going to cross paths, but maybe not in the usual way. There might be a little bit of fighting and a little bit of mind games here and there in the future. But we’re all looking forward to what they’ve got coming up.”
Speed Daal And The Bistro Could Go Head To Head
While Leanne and Nick’s relationship is over, a new rivalry may be about to begin. Jane revealed that upcoming storylines could see both sides competing through their businesses rather than their personal lives. She explained: “We’re potentially working together in Speed Daal, and we’ve got Toyah [Battersby] and Nick in the Bistro. So there’s a potential for a bit of restaurant wars, maybe.”
That means Leanne and Idris could end up working together at Speed Daal while Nick and Toyah continue running the Bistro. If that happens, competition between the two businesses could quickly heat up.
Jane’s comments about fighting and mind games suggest that there could be plenty of tension ahead. Instead of arguing over relationships, the characters may be battling to prove which restaurant comes out on top.
