Coronation Street: Betsy’s Anger Gets Out of Control
The journey to this moment has been anything but smooth sailing. Having been accidentally shot in the shoulder by her mother, Lisa Swain, Betsy is unable to use her arm.
The accident, which occurred during a tumultuous hostage situation, has been plaguing her ever since.
Viewers will remember Rob Donovan holding Carla Connor hostage at No.1.
Prior to Lisa‘s arrival on the scene, Rob had made Tracy Barlow talk to Carla there so he could get his revenge.
Although Rob did not have a gun with him when he faced off against Lisa, there was a fight for the gun during which it was fired.
The bullet ricocheted through the window, causing permanent harm to Betsy. Tormented by the aftermath, Betsy turns her anger not only on Tracy but on Carla as well.
From Rage to Destruction
Set on getting revenge, Betsy later catches Tracy off-guard when she’s unloading flowers from her van and sees her chance.
Fixated on the revenge, she breaks into the vehicle and destroys its contents.
But before she can do any actual harm, Lauren Bolton apprehends her in the act and tells her to stop.
Betsy refuses to give in and instead moves higher, destroying more of the meticulously set-up flowers.
Lauren, obviously upset, gets in after her and attempts to talk her down. But just when tensions are running at a breaking point, something unexpected occurs—Tracy reappears.
Betsy is taken utterly by surprise, and she panics and yells at Lauren to get them out of there.
The two of them race off, with the van’s rear doors still open, leaving flowers and stems strewn along the road behind them.
