Everything feel really tense around Todd Grimshaw right now, and the latest Coronation Street episode hints that he’s finally reached a moment where something has to give. He’s been trying to keep the peace for months, but Theo Silverton’s behaviour is getting harder for him to ignore, and it quietly pushes Todd toward a move he’s been too scared to make until now.
How The Pressure Has Been Building For Months
If you’ve been following their relationship, you’ll know Todd has been tiptoeing around Theo for a while. Theo started out charming earlier this year, but lately he’s become controlling and unpredictable.
He keeps pushing Todd to exercise far more than he’s comfortable with, and things turned frightening recently when Theo slammed Todd’s head into a mirror during an argument. When Todd asked him to take responsibility for it, Theo completely flipped the situation.
He insisted it was an accident and made Todd doubt himself. Then he tried to isolate Todd by convincing him not to meet Summer Spellman, pretending he didn’t want any awkward questions, but it was obvious he just wanted control.
Even the so-called “nice” gestures have strings attached. Theo bought Todd a fitness tracker watch, which looked sweet at first, but really it gave Theo another way to monitor him. And tonight, when Todd was on the exercise bike trying to hit the target Theo set, he got interrupted by someone he didn’t expect.
The Night Takes A Dark Turn in Coronation Street
After Danielle left, everything between Todd and Theo exploded again. Todd tried to walk out, saying he couldn’t take the behaviour anymore. But Theo suddenly switched tactics and started hurting himself on purpose. He acted like he was finally owning up to everything. But it was clear he was just trying to emotionally trap Todd again. Later, Todd managed to get out to do some shopping. And while he waited in the pub for takeaway hot pots, Summer and Billy Mayhew spotted him.
They could tell he looked really low and encouraged him to stay for a drink. Todd gave Billy a quick hug before leaving, completely unaware that Theo had been standing there watching every second. Back home, Todd tried to smooth things over by showing Theo some framed photos. It worked for the moment, but once Todd was alone, he finally took a step toward exposing the truth.
We won’t spoil exactly what Todd set up in the flat. But let’s just say, it’s something that will make it very hard for Theo to hide his behaviour next time. Todd has definitely taken a big risk here. If Theo realises what he’s done, it could make things even more dangerous.
