Todd Grimshaw’s life on Coronation Street has taken a heartbreaking turn. Fans really believed his long nightmare was coming to an end. Todd Grimshaw has lived in fear for months. Theo Silverton controlled every part of his life. He told Todd where he could go, who he could see, and constantly made him feel small. Theo mixed violence with apologies, which kept Todd stuck. There were moments when things seemed okay, but they never lasted. Theo humiliated Todd, hurt him, and then blamed him for it.
When Todd finally tried to leave during the CCTV-style episode, viewers hoped this was the moment he would escape. That hope didn’t last long. After Todd pushed Theo away during a fight, Theo made sure it looked like Todd was the violent one when the police got involved. He then pulled Todd back in with tears and a sudden marriage proposal, making fans fear Todd was trapped again.
Billy Stepped In And Gave Todd Hope
Todd hit rock bottom after another violent attack, when Theo knocked him to the floor and kicked him. As usual, Theo cried afterwards and said they were both to blame. Todd stayed silent, scared to make things worse. Everything changed at Debbie Webster’s wedding. Billy Mayhew, Todd’s ex and close friend, noticed bruises on Todd after Theo ordered him to clean himself up. He had suspected something for a while, but now he knew the truth.
Billy offered Todd support and agreed to take him back to Weatherfield on the minibus. Theo followed them, refusing to let Todd go. When Theo tried to sit close to Todd, Billy told him firmly to back off, clearly standing up for him. Everything fell apart during the Corriedale crossover between Coronation Street and Emmerdale. A serious crash left the minibus on fire. Billy was badly hurt and trapped inside.
In a shocking moment, Theo fastened Billy back into his seatbelt before escaping. The bus then exploded with Billy still inside.
