Gail Platt is back! Helen Worth showed up at Jack P Shepherd’s wedding this weekend, and honestly, it felt like a Coronation Street family reunion but off-screen. Seeing her there, supporting Jack, her on-screen son for all these years, was such a lovely moment. And if you think that’s exciting, wait till you hear about the whole day.
Jack and Hanni’s Story Has Soap Roots Too
So, Jack (David Platt to us) has been with Hanni Treweek for years now. They actually met on Corrie, he was on screen, she worked behind the scenes, and their love story just grew from there. Last year, he proposed to her on a safari trip, and from then on, it was full-on wedding prep.
And Jack even went on Celebrity Big Brother to help pay for the big day. He said he never thought he’d win it, but he did! That win clearly helped them pull off the kind of wedding that dreams are made of. Meanwhile, Hanni had been counting down the days on Instagram, sharing all the bride-to-be’s feelings and saying how excited she was to become Mrs Shepherd after seven years.
Coronation Street: Star-Studded and So Glamorous
The ceremony took place at Manchester Cathedral, and even though the weather wasn’t perfect, the venue looked absolutely stunning. They went all out, 150 white chairs, a gorgeous floral altar, and that beautiful old cathedral setting. Very grand. Very Corrie.
After the ceremony, everyone headed over to The Lowry Hotel in Salford for the reception. Jack and Hanni turned up in a red Mustang (soap car goals!), shared a little kiss, and headed in looking like a proper bride and groom. Hanni’s dress was gorgeous, especially when you saw it in full.
Loads of Corrie stars were there too. Tina O’Brien looked beautiful in a blue summer dress, Lucy Fallon wore a bright yellow gown, and Alan Halsall brought along his new girlfriend Ellie Dolan. Even Chris Hughes from Celebrity Big Brother turned up. Word is, they didn’t hold back on anything. They even hired Manchester’s top security firm to make sure the day ran smoothly.
Helen Worth being there really stood out. She’s been such a big part of Jack’s journey on screen, so seeing her turn up to support him in real life just felt right.
She’s not been in the public eye much since stepping back from Corrie, but she clearly wasn’t going to miss this moment. Jack’s real-life mum and his son were there too, so it felt like a full-circle family moment.
Helen Worth’s appearance definitely added something special, but the day as a whole felt like a real celebration of everything Jack and Hanni have built, both inside and outside of the Corrie world. The little touches, like their arrival in a red Mustang and the floral altar at the cathedral, showed how much thought they’d put into making the day feel personal.
