Fans Spot Junade Khan In Old Coronation Street Episodes
Junade Khan joined Coronation Street earlier this summer as Idris Nazir, Alya Nazir’s cousin. He first impressed viewers when he stepped in to deal with some difficult customers at Speed Daal. He also caught Leanne Battersby’s attention with his confident personality.
As Idris settled into Weatherfield, fans saw that he was not as straightforward as he first appeared. He has caused several problems for local residents, even if some of them happened by accident. However, fans are now talking about something completely different. They recently discovered that Khan had already appeared on the soap almost 18 years ago.
People watching Classic Corrie on ITV3 and ITVX recognized Khan in episodes that first aired in September 2008. Back then, he played Saj, one of Rosie Webster’s former boyfriends.
Although Saj only appeared in two episodes, many fans still noticed the familiar face.
Fans Could Not Believe It Was The Same Actor
After spotting Khan in the old episodes, viewers shared their reactions on Reddit. User abigailbird posted a screenshot from a scene in the Rovers Return and wrote: “I spotted him a few episodes ago and said to myself, ‘That looks like Idris’. Now he’s popped up again, had to Google, and it is him. Played Rosie’s short term boyfriend in 2008.”
Other fans were just as surprised. Wooden-Kangaroo-2314 replied: “Good catch!” Another viewer, Haggisboy, wrote: “Honestly did a double take because of the noted actors who’ve put time in on Corrie.”
Another Reddit user, Every_Psychology9, also shared their reaction. They wrote: “I knew it was him! When I saw him chatting to Kevin the other day I was hit with a massive Deja vu moment and I googled him. And there it was…Idris was Saj.”
Saj’s story ended after just two episodes, but Idris looks set to stay in Weatherfield for much longer. Recent episodes revealed that he had bought property in the area, which makes him an important part of current storylines.
