The Corrie streets may be where he usually shines, but this time, Liam McCheyne has achieved something big away from the soap. The young star recently took on a tough challenge, and now his Coronation Street co-stars are celebrating his success in a big way.
Liam McCheyne Completes His First Marathon
Liam, who plays Dylan Wilson on the show, has just completed the Manchester Marathon. This was his first ever marathon, and what makes it even more impressive is that he trained for only two weeks.
He shared photos from the day on Instagram, including one where he proudly showed his medal. He looked happy and relieved after finishing such a big challenge. In his caption, Liam wrote, “First marathon completed.

With 2 weeks of training. But what an experience.” His words showed how much the moment meant to him.
This run was not only about fitness or personal achievement. Liam also raised money for Charlie’s Promise. The charity works to fight knife crime across the UK, and the money he raised will go towards that cause.
The Charity Connection Behind His Big Run
Before the marathon, Liam spoke to fans through an Instagram video. He said he does not usually make videos like that, but this time he had a big request.
He explained that he had signed up for the marathon just a week earlier. That meant he had only two weeks to prepare, but he promised to give it his best effort.

Liam also shared why he chose Charlie’s Promise. He said the charity means a lot to him. The Coronation Street team had worked with them during a knife crime storyline, and he had seen their work closely. He said they are doing amazing work, and that thought helped him keep going during the run.
He also asked fans to support the cause if they could. For him, finishing the marathon was important, but helping the charity was even more meaningful.
Corrie Cast Shower Him With Praise
After Liam completed the marathon, many of his co-stars quickly showed their support. The comments on his post were full of kind and encouraging messages.

Sydney Martin called him a “star boy,” showing how proud she felt. Samia Longchambon also congratulated him and said it was an amazing achievement for a great cause. Luca Toolan described what he did as “incredible.” Other cast members like Kyran Bowes, Kimberly Hart-Simpson, and Tony Maudsley also sent their congratulations.
Liam thanked everyone who supported him. He showed gratitude to those who donated, cheered during the race, and sent him messages. He also gave special thanks to Andy Geelan, saying he could not have finished the marathon without him. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
