Corrie star Beverley, first revealed her breast cancer diagnosis in February during an appearance on Ireland’s RTE Late Late Show. Soon after sharing the news, she underwent surgery and has been updating fans on how her recovery is going.
Now, she has spoken again, this time focusing on the long wait for her latest health reports. In a video shared from her living room, she said she wanted to give “a little update on where things are” and explained how much this stage has been affecting her.
She recalled a recent moment when she thought she was finally about to receive her results. While heading to a photoshoot for a magazine feature about Fair City, her husband John was driving when her phone rang. The call had no caller ID, which made her think it was the hospital. “I thought, okay, this is it. My results,” she said.
Phone Call Raises Hopes But Disappointment Follows
The call did come from the hospital, but it was not the update she had been waiting for. It was one of the cancer care nurses checking in on her condition instead. Beverley told the nurse that she has been feeling “quite a lot of soreness” recently. The nurse suggested that she might be overdoing things during her recovery, which could be adding to the discomfort.
However, the biggest blow came when she learned that her test results are still not ready. “Hopefully I’ll get them next week,” she said. She described that feeling when your “heart’s in your mouth” because you think the news is finally coming, only to be told it is not there yet. At one point, she admitted she felt like she could not keep putting on a brave face and said, “I can’t do this anymore. I can’t paint a smile on my face again.”
Even so, she still went ahead with the photoshoot and managed to get through it. After sharing her latest update about the delayed health reports, fans quickly filled the comments with support.
