An EastEnders character returning from the dead after an off-screen exit is something fans are always ready to believe. Well, the next in line could be Vincent Hubbard. EastEnders’ Richard Blackwood Discusses The Criteria For A Vincent Hubbard Comeback
Richard has hinted at a potential return to the BBC soap if the future storyline is right. The actor played Vincent Hubbard for three years. And after that, he joined a rival show, Hollyoaks, as Felix Westwood. Also, Vincent was killed off-screen years ago, but the star refuses to rule out a surprise resurrection in Walford.
Richard has spoken about the possibility of returning to the show. Speaking about his comeback he said, “I would never say never, EastEnders was really good to me. If the storyline is right and it makes sense, obviously it’s also about what the fans want as well.”
Fans might remember that the character was originally shot by a gang in 2018. However, his off-screen death was later confirmed to his family in 2021. But we have seen iconic residents like Kathy Beale and Cindy Beale successfully returning from the dead. Hence, fans still believe that a route back still exists for Vincent.
Reflecting on his past Richard added, “Vincent put me on the map if you think about it, in terms of a soap drama, Vincent was like the first to do it, it will always be in my heart.” Elsewhere, when Richard left the soap a decade ago, he had released a statement. He said, “I have loved every minute of my time at EE and although I will be sad to say goodbye, after three years, it feels the right time to leave.”
The Soap Star Teases A Potential Reality Television Appearance
Richard is also interested in signing up for a major reality dancing competition. He has previously competed on ‘Dancing on Ice’. However, he was the second celebrity to get eliminated from the ice rink.
Now, he has commented on whether a stint on Strictly Come Dancing could happen in the future. He says, “I could do it, it’s safer, because it’s concrete, carpeted…As I say, I would never say never.”
Richard also revealed that performing on skates is one of the hardest challenges because no matter how much training someone does, it is dangerous.
