David Henrie is back to reprise his iconic role as Justin Russo in Disney’s The Wizards of Waverly Place. While the revival left fans on their toes, David’s latest words on reuniting with Selena Gomez are just mesmerizing. In a recent interview, David Henrie shared that reuniting with co-star Gomez was an “awesome” experience.
There’s no denying that back then, the audience enjoyed watching David Henrie and Selena Gomez onscreen. It’s amazing that the duo will return to relive the moments rent-free in their fans’ minds. In the teenage fantasy series, Gomez and Henrie played siblings Alex and Justin Russo.
The pair is now ready to return with their magical ability to enchant the audience. However, they didn’t want the parent show to end. In an interview with US Weekly, David Henrie said they didn’t want the series to end. It was great. He also talked positively about Selena Gomez. Henrie said, “She has such a quick wit that’s only gotten stronger.”
However, things changed eventually, and after a years-long break, Henrie and Gomez are back to film the sequel of “Wizards of Waverly Place.” The revival series, “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” started filming in April. Andy Fickman is back to direct the series. However, Justin T. Austin, who played Gomez’s onscreen brother Max, won’t return for the sophomore run.
David DeLuise and Maria Canals-Barrera will reprise their roles as Jerry and Theresa Russo. Along with them, some new cast will join them. These new faces include Mimi Gianopulos as Justin’s wife, Giada, Alkaio Thiele as his oldest son, Roman, and Max Matenko as Justin’s youngest son, Milo. There’s no denying that fans are rooting to see them back on screen. However, they need to wait a little longer to cherish such a moment.
While fans are holding their breath to see “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” David Henrie shared that he has a surprise for them. He shared that he and Gomez have a couple of scenes together. David continued that he enjoyed filming such scenes with Selena Gomez and believes fans will enjoy it, too. “So, I’m excited for you to see it,” adds David.
For the unversed, “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” will follow a powerful wizard, Billie (Janice LeAnn Brown), who is set to polish her skills. After Alex brings Billie to Justin’s place, the wizard headmaster decides to take Billie under his wing. This will ultimately create a series of events where fans will learn about more new magic sorcery.
